Hello Dear Family and Friends,
Thanks so very much for the great feedback, comments, and questions I've
received from so many of you. It is alway exciting to me when I turn on
my email and read a response from one of you. And thanks to all of you
for your prayers and well wishes for me that seem to buoy me along
through these busy days!
I'm excited to share that the first objective of my trip..."Christ at
the Check Point Conference" is underway, and WOW, it is powerful!!
People have arrived from all over the world, and the connections with
peacemakers everywhere is incredible! If you haven't had time to check
to the Conference yet, I encourage you to do so...
Once again, here is the website:
https://christatthecheckpoint.bethbc.edu
You can view the presentations that have been given so far, and you can
participate live in the sessions yet to come by checking out the website
and the conference schedule. For starters, I'd encourage you to view the
opening presentation by Dalia Qumsieh on "Setting the Political and
Historical Context" which give an articulate and concise statement on
the history leading up to the current crisis.
Again, I want to reassure you of my safety, security and peace of mind!
I feel more safe here than I do in so many places at home. The people of
Palestine are so friendly, welcoming, protective, and hospitable! I can
walk the streets of Bethlehem freely, day or night, without a worry.
Tuesday I walked all over the old city in Jerusalem, as well as East
Jerusalem, and met with welcoming smiles and affirmations everywhere.
There is way too much fear and sensationalism broadcast by the American
media around the issues of Palestine that just don't reflect the reality
on the street!
I am so very grateful to be here in this place where so much of history
has been shaped in the past, and where current events of world
consequence are going on right now.
Pray for the peace of Gaza, beginning with a ceasefire....it will bring
ripples of peace to spread out across this area.
Love to each of you!
Terry
