This Thursday June 3rd we will have hike/walk options as we enjoy the cooler weather on the Staircase Rapids loop trail in the Olympic National Park. The hike option will be an easy 2.1 mile loop with 213 feet of elevation gain on a well maintained trail. Dorina will lead a walk option for a very easy 1.5 mile flat portion of the Staircase Rapids trail. This walk option one of the easiest walks we have through old-growth trees.
After returning to the trailhead we will have our lunch down by the Skokomish River. After lunch the near-by Shady Lane trail may lure some for an easy flat 2 mile out & back walk.
We will leave the Church at 9:00 a.m. or meet at the trail head inside the park by 10:00 a.m. The Federal Park pass or Golden Age/NW Forest pass is required to enter the Olympic National Park. A pit toilet is available at the trailhead. Bring some water for the trail.
Happy Trails
